Hi all,
Now, I know this is a fashion blog, but sometimes a girl just does not have the effort to look like a runway model.
Take Sunday, for example. Sundays are usually the days when achieving the supermodel look is the hardest. I tried to make some sort of effort, but I'm the first to admit I'm not thrilled with the results:
Yes, the sweater is cute and cozy the shorts are comfortable, and the flats make me look like a ballerina (believe it or not, someone actually asked me if I take ballet. Ha. Ha ha ha. Umm...no.)
I have a Very Important Lesson today about fashion: It's not something you are expected to uphold all the time.
The way you dress and the style you create for yourself mean nothing if being yourself is not enough. Being who you are should be enough for friends, family, and the world. Yes, a nice outfit gives you confidence, but believe it or not, that confidence is there whether the outfit is or not. The outfit is just a filter, exuding your confidence to the world. But sometimes, there are other ways of breaking down that filter.
Sunday was rough. I wore not a speck of make up, I threw on some clothes, and headed off to a two-hour long study sessions with some classmates. And you know what? I got the studying done and I had a good time with my friends. And they didn't care in the least that I wasn't perfectly groomed.
So yeah, I love fashion. I love creating a personal style and wearing it for the world to see. But sometimes, I want the world to see strictly me. Not my clothes, not my shoes, not my hat. Me.
Just remember to be yourself.
That is all.
XO Ally
