Hey all,
So today was pretty uneventful. I tried to be productive, but as usual, I ended up spending more time on tumblr than I did working on my mid-term papers. I know, I know. I'll pay for it later, but really, I can't help myself. I don't even have a tumblr and I'm obsessed. It's a sickness, but I'm working on it.
Anyway, let's move one from my internet obsession to today's outfit:
I'm quite disappointed with the photos today; no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get the camera to capture the exact color of these amazing pants I got from Delia's. They are far more bright green in person, and while wearing them, people can see me coming from a mile away. I love funky colored pants dearly, but I'll admit I struggled to find a top that would somewhat match them. I finally ended up rather regretfully with a simple black tee, but I threw in some more color with a magenta scarf.
But the best part of this outfit? The shoes.
Whether you call them Allstars, Converses, or Chuck Taylors, these puppies are amazing. I'm ankle-deep in a love affair with my high-tops. I own a black pair and a pink pair, but given the opportunity, I would have them in every shade. I would also really love to own this lovely pair. They are spunky, old-school, and casual while still fashionable. My calculus teacher last year wore them all the time, proving that even those in authority positions can't resist the allure of the high-tops. Basically, they're irresistible.
They run at around $40-60 regularly, which I know is a bit pricy, but they are a shoe that you can throw on with anything. Plus, they last a really long time. Play your cards right and you could find them at a discounted price, or search around in some Goodwills and thrift stores. I acquired these black ones in the past year, but I've had my pink ones since my freshman year of high school! As long as your feet don't grow, they'll last you a while.
All right people: I send you off into the world with an appreciation of Chucks. They're not just for 80's movies anymore; they are back and they are going to sweep you off your feet. Literally.
